Perth Week 2

Adam and Bob went to Joondalup Golf Course for a round of golf, it’s the no. 1 golf resort in Australia apparently whilst Lyn and i set off to find a spa for a day of pampering.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to have spa’s like we do in the U.K. All the places we visited were basically just a shop that offered massage, waxing etc they didn’t have a pool or a sauna so we gave up the search and decided to go to the local library to see what else there was to do. By this time it was the afternoon so we went back to the house and chilled out there whilst waiting for the boys. When they had returned we decided to visit the local swimming pool and had a brilliant time there. We had a swim, had fun on the mini rapid ride and cleared our pores in the sauna.
The following day Adam and i went to the local library and set to trying to find a job and somewhere to live when we get to Brisbane. Unfortunately a lot of the companies we phoned look more for 3 month contract rather than just a couple of weeks, however I found a job for Adam which was for 2 weeks only and so he phoned them up and was invited for an interview. Bob and Lyn went looking around the shops and managed to find a friend for Ziggy the zebra called Nici, you may see her in some of the photos on picasa.

Adam had his interview in Freemantle on Thursday so he dropped us all off in Perth city centre. We went to the tourist information and found that there was a free daily orientation walking tour of the city and our guide just so happened to be from Bedworth and had lived in Perth for over 38 years. The tour was excellent and she told us all about the free busses and places of interest. We ended the tour at the
she came from Bedworth !!! We noted a few places of interest and after the tour we sat in the Lucky Shag Bar having a drink, overlooking the Swan River and going through the leaflets we had collected.

We decided that after Adam returned from his interview we would go and see the Australian Mint. The Perth Mint produced the medals for the 2000 Olympics and we watched an ingot of pure gold being made! It was worth around au$ 200,000 – they wouldn’t let us touch it though- can’t think why not ! After the tour we bought a wedding present for Adam and TJ – you will have to wait and see what it is until after the wedding ….
